A heartbreaking plane crash in Union County, South Carolina, has taken the lives of four members of the same family. The incident has left the community in shock, as authorities shared more details about the victims and their journey.
Deadly Plane Crash Near Union County Airport
The crash happened on Friday, April 17, in a wooded area close to the runway at the Union County Airport. According to officials, the aircraft went down shortly after stopping in the area.
Emergency teams responded quickly, but sadly, there were no survivors.
Four Family Members Identified
The Union County Coroner’s Office confirmed that all four people on board the plane died in the crash. The victims have been identified as:
- James Moffatt (60)
- Leasa Moffatt (61)
- Andrew Moffatt (30)
- William Moffatt (28)
All four victims were members of the same family, making the tragedy even more painful.

Officials said the family was travelling from Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, to Huntsville, Alabama. The plane had stopped in Union County to refuel before continuing the journey.
