A two-year-old was stunned by a stadium light at Evans Park, according to reports

A 2-year-old child was reportedly shocked by a stadium light pole at Riverside Park in Evans, Georgia, on Wednesday night, according to a Columbia County incident report.

Child Shocked at Park

The incident happened around 9:47 p.m. on Dolphin Way at Riverside Park.

According to the report, the child’s father told authorities that his son was shocked after coming into contact with a stadium light pole.

Father Also Received Shock

The father said he grabbed his son after the incident and was shocked as well.

No information about injuries has been released.

Area Secured

Columbia County firefighters responded to the scene, taped off the pole, and shut off power to the light.

Electrical Reading Detected

County maintenance workers later tested the access panel at the base of the pole and reportedly found a 75-volt electrical reading.

Officials have not yet released additional information about the cause of the electrical issue or whether other park light poles will be inspected.
