Traffic delays were reported on Interstate 95 near Hardeeville on Friday after a crash caused congestion in both directions.
Crash Causes Traffic Backup
According to officials, a collision near the 6-mile marker on I-95 was reported around 11:30 a.m. Friday.
The Hardeeville Police Department advised motorists to use caution while traveling through the area.
Northbound Traffic Slowed
Traffic data showed northbound congestion stretching from the South Carolina-Georgia border into the Hardeeville area around midday.
Average speeds in some sections dropped significantly as vehicles moved through the backup.
Southbound Delays Also Reported
Heavy traffic was also reported on southbound I-95 north of Hardeeville, with major slowdowns visible on traffic cameras.
Conditions began improving around 12:30 p.m. as congestion cleared.
Traffic Returned to Normal
By approximately 1:20 p.m., traffic camera views showed vehicles moving steadily through the area.
Officials encouraged drivers to remain cautious and consider alternate routes if delays return.
