Three South Carolina residents have been charged in connection with a drive-by shooting in Chester that killed a 16-year-old boy and injured two other teenagers, authorities said.
Three Charged in Deadly Chester Shooting
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division charged 21-year-old John David Estes and 24-year-old Quentin Javor Craig Jr. with murder and two counts of attempted murder.
A third suspect, 53-year-old Kenyetta Adrryll Sims, was charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
Teen Killed, Two Others Injured
Investigators said the shooting happened on May 3 on Pinckney Street in Chester.
Authorities identified the victim as 16-year-old Avery West, who died at the scene after being shot.
A 17-year-old victim was struck in the back and taken to a hospital for treatment. A third teenager was also targeted during the shooting.
Investigators Detail Alleged Roles
According to arrest warrants, Craig allegedly fired shots from a Ford Focus while Estes was inside the vehicle.
Officials said surveillance footage, witness statements, and admissions connected both men to the shooting.
Sims is accused of helping Craig after the shooting by transporting him to North Carolina, arranging a place for him to hide, and helping with plans to leave the country.
Authorities also alleged Sims gave false information to investigators during interviews.
Suspects Denied Bond
All three suspects were booked into the Chester County Detention Center.
Officials said bond was denied for each of them.
The investigation remains ongoing.
