A 38-year-old woman has been charged with assault after allegedly attacking her grandmother at a home in Anderson County. Ameenah Sabree of Pendleton was arrested following the brutal assault on Saturday, May 9.
Incident Details
According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a 911 call placed by the elderly woman, who reported that someone had broken into her home on Burns Bridge Road and attacked her. The victim, in distress, provided information that led authorities to believe she had been brutally assaulted.
Suspect Located and Arrested
Patrol deputies quickly located the suspect on Sandy Springs Road. Sabree was identified as the granddaughter of the victim. She was taken into custody and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, as well as first-degree burglary.
Victim’s Condition and Legal Proceedings
The victim, who has not been named, was hospitalized following the attack. Sabree is currently being held at the Anderson County Detention Center while awaiting further legal proceedings.
