Coroner identifies guy killed after hitting tree in Charleston County single-vehicle crash.

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. — The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has identified the man killed in a single‑vehicle crash Friday evening.

Victim Identified

The victim was Gary Adams, 52, of Michigan, Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal confirmed. Adams died at the scene from his injuries.

Crash Details

Deputies say the crash happened shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Highway 61 (Ashley River Road) between Magnolia Gardens and Middleton Place. Initial investigations indicate Adams was driving north when his vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree.

He was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
