A North Charleston man was arrested after allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend while holding a child.

A serious domestic violence case has been reported in North Charleston, where police arrested a man after an alleged assault involving his former partner and their child.

What Happened

According to the North Charleston Police Department, officers responded to a domestic disturbance call around 7 p.m. in the 7900 block of St. Ives Road.

At the victim’s request, officers met her at a different location. She told police that her ex-boyfriend, Kentrell Moore, allegedly pushed her against a wall and assaulted her while she was holding their child. During the incident, the child’s head reportedly struck the wall.

Charges Filed

Police arrested Moore and charged him with:

  • Second-degree domestic violence
  • Violation of a protection order

Investigators confirmed that there was an active protection order against him at the time of the incident.

Suspect’s Statement

Moore told officers that there was a physical altercation between him and the victim. He claimed that the victim pushed and hit him first, and he responded by pushing her. He also admitted that he was aware of the protection order in place.

Legal Action Taken

Following the incident, Moore was taken into custody and booked at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
