Two Lowcountry men have been arrested on multiple charges related to the alleged sexual exploitation of minors following separate investigations by South Carolina’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Two Men Arrested
Authorities arrested 74-year-old David Kurtz of North Charleston and 29-year-old Smit Vipul Sinojia of Charleston on June 2 in unrelated cases.
Investigators said the cases began after receiving CyberTipline reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Charges Against Kurtz
Kurtz faces nine counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
According to investigators, he is accused of possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material. Authorities also noted that Kurtz was previously convicted on similar charges in 2025.
Charges Against Sinojia
Sinojia is charged with three counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Investigators allege he distributed files containing child sexual abuse material.
Investigation Ongoing
The arrests were made as part of separate investigations involving multiple law enforcement agencies, including members of South Carolina’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Both cases will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.
