A kitten that was allegedly thrown from a moving vehicle in Hanahan is safe, but authorities are searching for the person responsible.
Kitten Thrown From Vehicle
According to Hanahan Police and Animal Control, the incident happened Wednesday morning between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Henry E. Brown Jr. Boulevard near the bridge.
Witnesses reported seeing a kitten thrown from the passenger window of a gray or dark-colored minivan or SUV. The vehicle then turned onto Yeamans Hall Road.
Kitten Found Safe
Police later confirmed the kitten was located and appeared to be in good health.
Authorities are treating the case as animal cruelty and are working to identify those involved.
Public Asked to Help
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has information, dash-cam footage, or vehicle details to contact Hanahan Animal Control or the Hanahan Police Department.
Officials say even small details could help advance the investigation.
