HART COUNTY, GA — A man was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including driving under the influence (DUI), following a police pursuit that ended in a crash, according to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office.
Incident Details
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Saturday when a deputy observed a black Dodge Challenger driving recklessly and laying drag at the intersection of Chandler Street and W Franklin Street. The deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver allegedly failed to pull over, prompting a pursuit.
The chase continued north on Reed Creek Highway until the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed near Tahoe Drive. Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Driver Identified and Arrested
The driver, later identified as 27-year-old Worley Lorenzo Robinson of Elberton, was transported to AnMed Hospital by Hart County EMS. Authorities confirmed that Robinson was the only person involved in the crash.
Charges Filed
Robinson faces several charges, including laying drag, reckless driving, felony fleeing, driving under the influence (DUI), and possession of a firearm by a felon.
The incident highlights the dangers of reckless driving and the consequences of fleeing from law enforcement. Robinson is currently facing legal proceedings as part of the ongoing case.
