MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – A shift in weather patterns will bring a warm stretch to the area, with high pressure settling off the Southeast coast, ushering in southerly winds that will drive up temperatures through the middle of the week.
Tonight’s Forecast
Clear skies and light winds will lead to cooler temperatures overnight. Coastal areas will dip into the low to mid 50s, while inland areas could see temperatures in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees.
Monday through Wednesday: Warming Up
From Monday through Wednesday, temperatures will gradually rise thanks to increasing southerly winds. Expect highs in the low to mid 70s along the coast, with temperatures reaching the 80s by Wednesday. Inland areas will see highs in the upper 70s on Monday, climbing into the 80s by Tuesday and Wednesday. Along with the heat, humidity will also increase, and dew points will climb. A stray shower or storm could develop inland, triggered by the seabreeze, on Wednesday.
Thursday: Cold Front and Storms
A cold front will move through the area on Thursday, bringing scattered thunderstorms. While not everyone will see rain or thunderstorms, areas that do could experience some heavy rain and embedded thunder. Highs will be in the 80s.
Friday: Cooler Temperatures
After the cold front passes, Friday will bring cooler temperatures, with highs returning to the low to mid 70s.
