Man is accused of two club shootings on the same night

A Richland County man has been arrested in connection with two separate nightclub shootings that occurred on May 10.

Suspect Identified

Authorities identified 35-year-old Jermaine Harris as the suspect in a shooting at Relapse Bar & Grill. That incident led to an officer-involved shooting involving a Forest Acres police officer.

Charges

Harris faces:

  • Two counts of aggravated breach of peace
  • Unlawful possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent offense

He is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a prior violent offense conviction in 2014 and is currently on probation.

Incident Details

Authorities said Harris fired shots into the air outside Relapse Bar & Grill, prompting a Forest Acres officer to respond, which resulted in the officer discharging their weapon. Harris was later involved in another shots-fired incident around 5 a.m. at Ole Place on Two Notch Road, where he again allegedly fired into the air.

Ballistics evidence and witness statements linked Harris to both shootings. When arrested, he was carrying a pistol, confirmed through ballistic testing to be the same firearm used in both incidents.

Sheriff’s Statement and Booking

Sheriff Leon Lott emphasized the dangers of combining alcohol and firearms, saying, “These senseless nightclub shootings demonstrate how alcohol and guns can be a deadly combination.”

Harris was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, granted a surety bond, but remains in custody.
