The latest earthquake, recorded by the U.S. Geological Survey, occurred at approximately 4:01 a.m. and had a magnitude of 2.4. The epicenter is believed to be located west of Camp Branch, less than a mile from the site of a magnitude 2.3 earthquake that rattled the region around 7:30 a.m. on Friday.
No Reports of Felt Tremors
As of 9:50 a.m. on Saturday, no residents in the county had reported feeling the latest quake. Earthquakes of this magnitude are typically difficult for most people to feel but are still detectable using seismometers and other monitoring equipment. The depth of the tremor was estimated to be about 1.9 miles.
