A Moncks Corner woman and a North Charleston man were arrested after police said officers found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside an illegally parked SUV.
Two Arrested in Meth Investigation
Police identified the suspects as 26-year-old Sonni Nicole Hogg of Moncks Corner and 47-year-old Shaun Jeremiah O’Shea of North Charleston.
Both were charged with trafficking methamphetamine.
Police Investigated SUV in High-Crime Area
According to the North Charleston Police Department, officers were patrolling near Bennett Yard Road and Dorchester Road on May 11 when they spotted an SUV parked illegally.
Investigators said officers recognized the vehicle and driver from previous narcotics investigations.
Drugs and Paraphernalia Found
Police said an inventory search of the SUV before towing uncovered:
- About 28.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine
- Smaller bags containing suspected methamphetamine
- Needles
- A meth pipe
Authorities said the substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Additional Warrants Expected
Hogg and O’Shea were booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center.
Police said warrants are also being sought for two additional men connected to the investigation.
