Suspect Pleads Guilty in 2020 Crime Spree

Darcellus Fishburne, now 21, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including murder, armed robbery, and attempted armed robbery. The announcement was made by the Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

At the time of the crimes, Fishburne was a minor.

Series of Crimes Early That Morning

The घटनाएँ began on July 17, 2020, when Fishburne and two other teenagers were travelling in a stolen car from North Charleston to downtown Charleston.

The first incident happened around 5:45 a.m. on Archdale Street, where a 74-year-old woman was approached at gunpoint and robbed.

Fatal Shooting During Attempted Robbery

About 20 minutes later, the same suspects targeted another group—a couple walking near King and Clifford streets.

During the attempted robbery, the suspects shot and killed Tom DiLorenzo, 63. His wife, Suzanne Austin, was not physically injured.

After the shooting, the suspects fled the scene in the stolen vehicle.

Impact on the Community

The incident deeply affected the Charleston community, especially given the nature of the crimes and the early morning attacks on innocent people.

Authorities have not yet announced sentencing details or upcoming court dates for Fishburne or his co-defendants.
