A 34-year-old Florida man has been arrested after a woman accused him of holding her and her 3-year-old child against their will inside his Miami home. According to an arrest affidavit, officers responded around 2:45 a.m. on Feb. 21 to a report of false imprisonment and located the woman and her child inside the residence. Authorities detained the suspect, identified as Saady Mijail Castellanos Triminio, at the scene.
Allegations Stemming From Online Meeting
Investigators said the woman, who lives in Orlando, told police she met Castellanos Triminio through the Facebook Dating app about two weeks before the incident. After video calls, he allegedly offered to buy her a ticket to Miami to celebrate his birthday.
According to the affidavit, what she believed would be a dinner date instead involved being taken to his home after he ordered pizza. Once there, she told police she felt uneasy. When she declined his request to kiss her and said she wanted to leave, he allegedly blocked her exit and told her it was “too dangerous” to go. She further alleged that he briefly took her phone and covered her mouth when she screamed, stopping only when she said she could not breathe.
Rescue and Charges Filed
The woman managed to retreat to a room with her child and contact a friend, who called 911. One responding officer remained on the phone with the friend and instructed that the woman make noise so officers could locate her. When she screamed for help, police detained Castellanos Triminio at the door.
He has been charged with kidnapping, robbery, child neglect, and battery by strangulation. Court records indicate he has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
