Donald Brown, 48, from Vine Grove in Meade County, Kentucky, faces charges of first-degree strangulation (domestic violence) and fourth-degree assault causing minor injury after allegedly attacking a woman outside a Dollar General store.

Incident Details

On February 7, 2026, around 12:06 a.m., Kentucky State Police Post 4 received a domestic violence report from victim Melinda Hager at the store. She stated Brown strangled her during an altercation in a vehicle, causing her to fall and strike her head; he then fled to his home on Jennings Knob Road.

Arrest Process

Troopers arrived at Brown’s residence, but he refused to exit, prompting warrants for search and arrest. The KSP Special Response Team took him into custody without incident around 7:30 a.m., and he remains held without bond at Meade County Detention Center.
