A tragic case of alleged child abuse in Marietta, Georgia, has led to the death of a 5-year-old boy, with his father and girlfriend facing serious felony charges.
Incident Details
Police responded to a 911 call on Sunday at a home in the 400 block of Ramona Street, finding the boy unresponsive with visible signs of trauma. He was rushed to the hospital, placed on life support, and died on Wednesday from blunt force trauma causing internal bleeding, including brain injuries.
Charges Against Suspects
Michael Horn, 31, the boy’s father, faces aggravated battery, aggravated assault, one count of first-degree cruelty to children, and four counts of second-degree cruelty to children. Alexiss Eitrem, 31, his girlfriend, is charged with five counts of second-degree cruelty to children for allegedly allowing five months of repeated beatings and torture in front of their four other children.
Investigation Status
Both suspects were arrested Monday and held without bond in Cobb County Jail; additional charges are pending as the probe continues. The other children were taken into custody by the Division of Family and Children Services.
