Discovery of the Scene
A family caregiver arrived for a scheduled visit around 8:15 a.m., spotted a note on the door reading “don’t enter” and “call police,” and alerted authorities. Officers entered the Mott Close home shortly after, finding the bodies of Jarrod Clune (50), Maiwenna Goasdowe (49), and their sons Leon (16) and Otis (14) in different areas, alongside a cat and two dogs.
Family Background
The teenagers faced significant health challenges, including autism, and had interacted with care services, but no prior police reports of family violence or criminal history existed. Detective Acting Inspector Jessica Securo described the non-violent scene as “heartbreaking” and “confronting,” with no weapons involved; the timeline (night before or morning of) remains under review via CCTV and witness canvassing.
