Thomas E. “Tommy” Pope was honoured as a Platinum Recipient of the Compleat Lawyer Award by the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law.
This award is one of the highest recognitions given to law school alumni. It celebrates professionals who have shown excellence in their careers and made meaningful contributions to society.
About the Compleat Lawyer Award
The Compleat Lawyer Awards were started in 1992 by the law school’s Alumni Council. The selection process is strict and includes top legal authorities such as:
- Chief Justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court
- Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals
- President of the South Carolina Bar
- Law school leadership
The Platinum category is given to lawyers with more than 31 years of experience who have shown strong ethics, skill, and leadership in their work.
A Career Built on Service and Excellence
Tommy Pope has had a long and successful career in law and public service. He graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1987.

- Served as solicitor for the 16th Circuit (York and Union Counties) from 1993 to 2006
