City of Isle of Palms Seeking Applications for Boards and Commissions

We are pleased to announce that applications are now open for several key boards and commissions. We are looking for dedicated and passionate individuals who want to make a meaningful contribution to the Isle of Palms community.

Available Positions:

Planning Commission

Be a part of shaping the long-term vision of the city. This commission plays a vital role in guiding the physical, social, and economic development and redevelopment of Isle of Palms. Members review zoning regulations, land use proposals, and infrastructure plans to ensure thoughtful and sustainable growth.

Environmental Advisory Committee

If environmental stewardship is important to you, consider joining this committee. Work alongside like-minded individuals to recommend policies and programs that support conservation, sustainability, and the protection of our natural resources.

Board of Zoning Appeals

This board is essential in upholding the city’s zoning standards. Members evaluate requests for variances, special exceptions, and appeals, helping ensure fairness and consistency in the application of zoning laws.

All boards and commissions meet once a month at City Hall. Terms begin on January 1st and last for two (2) or three (3) years, depending on the board or commission.
