According to court records, Tavel appeared before a judge on Tuesday for a bond hearing.

Authorities said the crash occurred on April 25 when a boat carrying seven people struck a dock near King Street in Mount Pleasant’s Old Village.

Greenleigh suffered fatal blunt force injuries and was pronounced dead following the collision.

The six other people aboard the vessel, including the operator, were transported to a hospital for treatment.

Investigation Continues

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is leading the investigation into the crash.

The case is being prosecuted by the Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
