A Wisconsin man has been arrested and charged with the brutal murder of his ex-girlfriend, who was found dead from 16 stab wounds. The tragic event unfolded after the man, Dale Dallia, allegedly discovered that his former partner, Stephanie Birn, had been unfaithful during their relationship. Dallia, 42, from Kenosha, is now facing serious charges, including murder, following the April 25th killing.

Violent Confrontation and Murder

According to a criminal complaint obtained by Law&Crime, Dallia reportedly became enraged after claiming that Birn had been “cheating with many men” during their relationship. Just hours before the murder, Dallia allegedly posted on Facebook asking for help with “getting rid of a body.” Shortly after, police received a report of a violent altercation involving two men at Birn’s home.

Officers responded to the scene and found Dallia with bloody hands, blood spatter on his face, and human flesh on his clothes. Birn was discovered unconscious and dying from multiple stab wounds inflicted by Dallia, who had apparently used a steak knife in the attack.

Prior History of Violence

This tragic incident is not Dallia’s first run-in with the law. He had a violent history, with previous charges including strangulation, battery, and disorderly conduct. Just a few months before the murder, in October 2024, Dallia was charged after allegedly choking a coworker. He had pleaded guilty to battery and disorderly conduct, serving time in jail for those offenses.

In early 2026, Dallia faced charges for operating while intoxicated (OWI) and drug possession, spending 90 days in jail. He was released in March, just a month before Birn’s death. According to Birn’s friends, she had ended the relationship with Dallia due to his aggressive behavior, which had escalated over time.

The Day of the Attack

On the day of the murder, Dallia allegedly attacked a man who was romantically involved with Birn, striking him with a frying pan and attempting to gouge his eyes out. The victim told police that he was invited to Birn’s home by a text message from her, but when he arrived, he noticed the front door had been kicked in. He was immediately assaulted by Dallia, who later boasted that he was “lucky” to be alive.

After being arrested, Dallia showed no remorse for his actions. While in the back of a squad car, he allegedly said, “I don’t care about you” and made cruel comments about Birn, showing a complete lack of empathy.

Victim’s Legacy

Stephanie Birn, 37, was a mother to an 11-year-old boy. Her friends described her as a caring mother who had been fearful of Dallia’s violent tendencies in the months leading up to her death. Birn had confided in friends about Dallia’s aggression and her concerns for her safety. Her tragic passing is a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic violence, especially when warning signs of abuse are ignored or downplayed.

Legal Proceedings and Charges

Dallia has been charged with first-degree murder, battery, and other related crimes in connection with Birn’s death. He is currently being held on a $2 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on May 12, 2026.

As the case unfolds, authorities continue to investigate the full extent of Dallia’s actions, and the community is left grappling with the impact of such a senseless and violent crime.
