A 20-year-old Anderson man has died following a single-vehicle crash in Anderson County, according to authorities.
Fatal Crash on Abbeville Highway
The crash happened Sunday on Abbeville Highway near Middleton Road.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 1999 Nissan Maxima was traveling south when it veered off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.
Driver Dies From Injuries
The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was transported to AnMed for treatment.
Authorities said he later died from his injuries.
Victim Identified
The Anderson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Elijah Patrick Chapman, 20, of Anderson.
The coroner said Chapman died from multiple traumatic injuries, and his death was ruled accidental.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
