Authorities in southeast Texas are investigating the death of a 15-year-old boy whose body was found outside a home in New Caney over the weekend.
Body Found Outside Home
The discovery was made around 11:30 p.m. on May 30 in the 20700 block of Stevens Road in New Caney, north of Houston.
A local resident called 911 after finding an unknown person lying in front of a neighbour’s home.
Teen Had Gunshot Wound
When deputies arrived, they found a 15-year-old boy who appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound.
Emergency responders attempted lifesaving measures, but the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation Underway
A woman who found the body told local media that she had seen the teen in the neighbourhood before but did not know him personally.
Detectives returned to the area the following day to search for evidence and continue their investigation.
Police Seeking Information
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is treating the case as a suspected homicide and is working to determine what happened and how the teen’s body ended up at the location.
