A tragic shooting in Atlanta has taken the life of a pregnant mother, leaving her family and community in shock. The incident happened during rush hour, raising serious concerns about safety and unanswered questions about what led to the attack.
Woman Found Shot on Atlanta Highway
According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers responded around 6:15 p.m. on April 14 to reports of a shooting on Interstate 75. The incident occurred near North Central Avenue SW, close to the airport in Atlanta.
When police arrived, they found a woman inside her vehicle with a gunshot wound. She was immediately taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Victim Identified as Bianca Huntley
The victim was later identified as Bianca Huntley, a 34-year-old pregnant mother of two.
According to the Fulton County Medical Examiner, she died from gunshot wounds to her arm and torso. Her death has been officially ruled a homicide.
Investigation Still Unclear
Police say early findings suggest that the shooting may not have happened on the highway itself. Instead, Huntley may have been injured at another location before being found on I-75.
At this stage, investigators have not confirmed where the shooting took place or who may be responsible. The case remains under active investigation.
Family Shares Heartbreak
Huntley’s mother, Gloria Allen, described her daughter as a bright and loving person. She said her daughter had built a life in Atlanta after moving from North Carolina nearly nine years ago.
Huntley was working as a quality manager and had recently received a promotion. She was in the process of building her team at work when her life was suddenly cut short.
Her mother also shared that Huntley was on her way home from work at the time of the incident and believes she may have been specifically targeted.
A Life Cut Short
Huntley leaves behind two daughters, aged 14 and 5, along with a grieving family. Her death has deeply affected those who knew her, especially given her achievements and future plans.
