A driver has died following a single-vehicle crash in Anderson County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Fatal Crash on Abbeville Highway
Troopers said the crash happened Sunday on Abbeville Highway near Middleton Road.
According to investigators, a 1999 Nissan Maxima was traveling south when it left the roadway and struck a tree.
Driver Dies From Injuries
The driver, who was the only person inside the vehicle, was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities said the driver later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Investigation Continues
The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
Officials have not said what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
