A family of four found dead inside their Los Angeles home last week died in what authorities have ruled an apparent murder-suicide.
Family Found Dead in Home
Police responded to a home in the North Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles on May 27 and discovered the bodies of two adults and two young children with gunshot wounds.
The victims were identified as 30-year-old Marine Basmajian, her husband Khajag Basmajian, 31, their 2-year-old son Alec, and their 6-day-old daughter Ella.
Medical Examiner’s Findings
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Marine Basmajian died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and her death was ruled a suicide.
Khajag Basmajian died from a gunshot wound to the head, and his death was ruled a homicide. The couple’s two children also died from gunshot wounds to the head.
Authorities said the case is being treated as a murder-suicide.
Community Mourns Family
A GoFundMe created to assist with funeral expenses described Khajag as a devoted husband and father, while remembering Alec as a joyful child who brought happiness to those around him.
The deaths have shocked the local community, with support services made available following the tragedy.
