SOUTH CAROLINA — A man was taken into custody Sunday morning after allegedly assaulting a woman at a Moncks Corner gas station, forcing her into the trunk of a vehicle, and leading police on a high-speed chase.
Incident Details
Officers responded around 3:45 a.m. to a reported domestic violence incident at the Circle K on Highway 52. Authorities said the suspect attacked a woman at the gas station before placing her in the trunk of his vehicle and fleeing the area.
The suspect reportedly drove at speeds exceeding 100 mph, prompting officers to pursue him. The chase ended when the vehicle crashed a short time later. The suspect attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.
Aftermath
All individuals involved in the crash were evaluated at a local hospital. The suspect has been booked into the Hill-Finklea Detention Center. Authorities have not yet released his name or confirmed specific charges.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
