COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a serious collision on I-26 in Calhoun County that claimed one life and injured three others.
The crash occurred around 12:20 a.m. on Saturday at mile-marker 133, approximately seven miles west of St. Matthews, according to SCHP.
What Happened
A 2025 Honda CRV was traveling eastbound when it veered off the right side of the road and struck a concrete barrier.
- Front seat passenger: Pronounced dead at the scene
- Other three occupants: Transported to a nearby hospital with injuries
Authorities have not released the identities of the victims.
