A tragic incident in Mount Pleasant has resulted in the death of a pedestrian following a crash, with authorities continuing to investigate what happened.
Pedestrian Dies After Collision
The crash occurred around 11 a.m. at the intersection of W. Coleman Boulevard and Patriots Point Road in Mount Pleasant.
According to the Mount Pleasant Police Department, a male pedestrian was struck during the collision and taken to the hospital.
Victim Succumbs to Injuries
Officials confirmed that the victim later died from his injuries. At this time, the Charleston County Coroner’s Office has not released his identity.
Traffic Impact and Reopening
Following the crash, the northbound Ravenel Bridge exit onto W. Coleman Boulevard was temporarily closed. Authorities have since reopened the roadway.
