'You cut in front of me': Walmart customer who attacked 79-year-old lady over line-cutting says victim 'deserved it,' authorities say

A disturbing incident at a Walmart store in Florida has led to criminal charges after an elderly woman was allegedly attacked while waiting in line. The case has raised concerns about public safety and respect for senior citizens.

Woman Charged After Walmart Altercation

A 34-year-old woman, Keri Estep, has been charged with battery against a person over the age of 65. The incident took place at a Walmart store in Sunrise, Florida.

According to police, the situation began as a verbal argument between Estep and a 79-year-old woman while they were standing in line.

Argument Escalates Into Physical Attack

Authorities said Estep accused the older woman of cutting in line, which led to a heated exchange. During the argument, Estep allegedly struck the woman in the chest and later kicked her.

The victim told officers that Estep insulted her by calling her an “old lady” and even said she “deserved it,” adding to the seriousness of the situation.

Witnesses and Evidence Support Victim’s Account

A security guard at the store witnessed the argument and tried to step in before things turned physical. However, police said Estep managed to get past the guard and continued the attack.

Initially, Estep claimed that the older woman had hit her shopping cart, which had her baby in it. But after reviewing surveillance footage, police said the evidence supported the victim’s version of events.

When confronted with the footage, Estep admitted that her earlier statement was inaccurate.

Victim’s Condition and Legal Action

The 79-year-old woman did not require medical treatment but chose to press charges. She described being kicked in the side and said the situation quickly turned violent despite her denying the accusation of cutting in line.

Arrest and Current Status

Keri Estep was arrested and booked into the Broward County Jail. She later posted a $2,500 bond and was released. Her next court appearance has not yet been announced.
