Two people were detained for trafficking meth in North Charleston

Two people were arrested in North Charleston after police allegedly found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside a vehicle during an investigation.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Police identified the suspects as 47-year-old Shaun Jeremiah O’Shea of North Charleston and 26-year-old Sonni Nicole Hogg of Moncks Corner.

Both are charged with trafficking methamphetamine.

Officers Investigated Suspicious Vehicle

According to the North Charleston Police Department, officers spotted an illegally parked SUV Monday afternoon near Bennett Yard Road and Dorchester Road, an area authorities described as known for narcotics activity and violent crime.

Police said officers recognized both the vehicle and O’Shea from previous narcotics-related investigations.

Meth and Drug Paraphernalia Found

Investigators conducted an inventory search before the SUV was towed and reportedly discovered around 28.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Police also said they found smaller bags containing suspected meth, needles, and a meth pipe inside the vehicle.

More Warrants Expected

Both suspects were booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center.

Authorities said warrants are also being prepared for two additional men connected to the case.
