American Airlines flight attendant inexplicably disappears during layover in Colombia

An American Airlines flight attendant has gone missing in Medellín during what was supposed to be a routine layover, raising serious concern among colleagues and authorities.

Flight Attendant Disappears During Layover

Eric Fernando Gutierrez Molina, 32, had travelled from Miami and arrived in Medellín late Saturday night. He was scheduled to stay overnight with his crew before returning to the United States the next morning. However, he never showed up for the return flight, prompting immediate concern.

Last Known Movements Remain Unclear

Authorities say Molina was last seen in the La América neighbourhood early Sunday morning. Later, a message was reportedly sent from his phone sharing his location at an Airbnb in the El Poblado area.

After that, his whereabouts became unknown, and investigators are now trying to piece together his final movements.

Reports of Disorientation Add Mystery

A close friend claimed that Molina had gone out after being invited to a gathering and was later found in a confused state and taken to a medical centre.

However, it is still unclear when this happened and how he disappeared again afterwards. This has made the case more complicated and raised further questions.

Search Efforts Underway

Missing person reports have been filed in both Dallas and Medellín as efforts to locate Molina continue. The airline has also informed the U.S. embassy in Colombia and is working with local authorities to support the investigation.

Experts Highlight Growing Concern

Experts say that in some cases, missing individuals are later found safe but disoriented. However, as time passes without any confirmed updates, concern continues to grow.

Investigators are expected to review surveillance footage, track phone records, and visit places he may have gone before disappearing.
