A shocking double murder case in Poteau has left a community in grief after a man was accused of killing his own twin sister and her young daughter before fleeing the state.
Man Accused of Killing Sister and Toddler
Grant Wilson, 31, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of his twin sister Gabrielle Wilson and her 17-month-old daughter. The case is being investigated by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
Authorities say the crime happened inside Gabrielle’s home, turning what first appeared to be a medical emergency into a tragic homicide case.
What Police Found at the Scene
Deputies from the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on Saturday afternoon. When they arrived, they discovered Gabrielle Wilson with a fatal gunshot wound. Evidence at the scene included shell casings and visible blood, showing the violence of the attack.
In another room, officers found the toddler with a gunshot wound to the head. Despite emergency response, both victims were declared dead.
Timeline of the Alleged Crime
Investigators say security footage showed Grant Wilson arriving at the house in the morning and leaving just four minutes later. This short time frame suggests the crime happened very quickly.
Family members told police that there had been a history of conflicts between the siblings, which may have played a role in the incident.
Suspect Tracked Across States
After the incident, authorities tracked the suspect’s vehicle through traffic cameras. The car was later spotted near Atlanta, nearly 700 miles away from the crime scene.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle, leading to a short chase before Grant Wilson was taken into custody. Officers reportedly found firearms in the car that matched evidence from the crime scene.
Investigation and Legal Status
Grant Wilson is currently in custody in Georgia and is expected to be extradited back to Oklahoma to face charges. Officials have described the case as deeply disturbing and heartbreaking for everyone involved.
