Deadly Wrong-Way Crash on Interstate
Genise Taylor, 24, is accused of DUI manslaughter after allegedly driving the wrong way on Interstate 75 and crashing into another vehicle. The incident happened around 4 a.m. on March 18.
The victim, Arthur Gilbert, 96, was rushed to the hospital but later died from his injuries. Reports say he had just dropped his wife at the airport before the crash.
High Alcohol Level Reported
Investigators say Taylor’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was 0.213, which is more than twice the legal limit. Despite this, she reportedly told police she had only consumed one glass of wine.
Authorities noted inconsistencies in her statements during questioning.

During a jail phone call, Taylor allegedly admitted that she had been stopped earlier that night by a deputy from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.
