Dariel Nunez-Montero, 32, faces extradition from Kentucky to Washington state for the 2024 murder of Courtney Clinton, a mother killed in front of her unharmed 1-year-old son.
Crime Details
On November 1, 2024, Clinton was found slashed in the throat inside a rented Ford Edge SUV on Blandford Drive in Vancouver, with her crying infant still in the vehicle; a passerby called 911 mistaking the blood for a gunshot wound. Nunez-Montero’s DNA appeared on the passenger door, and an unknown sample was under her fingernails.
Key Evidence
Doorbell footage from his Walnut Grove Apartments showed him leaving at 3:31 a.m. on October 29, 2024, with a woman matching Clinton’s description carrying a baby carrier, then returning alone at 6:29 a.m. Clinton shared her location there at 3:38 a.m.; she often met men via social media and escort sites. Enterprise reported her overdue on the rental, with a non-Clinton voice answering their call.
Legal Status
An April 2025 arrest warrant charged him with first-degree murder. Vancouver detectives served it while he was in Montgomery County, Kentucky, custody on unrelated matters; he’s expected in Washington soon after his Kentucky case wraps. A GoFundMe from Clinton’s sister noted the toddler’s presence at discovery.
