Teen father who shot his infant twice in the head and covered her body in snow 'to make her go away' has one more card to play in court.

Logan Kruckenberg Anderson, 21, was sentenced on March 16, 2026, to life in prison with supervised release possible after 45 years for the 2021 first-degree intentional homicide of his newborn daughter Harper, plus a concurrent four-year term for hiding her corpse.

Crime Details

At 16, Anderson and his then-14-year-old girlfriend hid her pregnancy until Harper’s birth in a bathtub on January 5, 2021. He placed the naked infant in a backpack, left her in the woods to die of exposure, then returned upon hearing cries and shot her twice in the head before covering her with snow.

Convicted on November 5, 2025, Anderson received 1,891 days’ credit for time served and a no-contact order with the mother. His defense filed a motion to dismiss, giving prosecutors 120 days to respond, with no hearing date set yet.

Case Context

The girlfriend’s father prompted the investigation via 911 after days without seeing the baby; the teens initially claimed an adoption via Snapchat. Prosecutors highlighted Anderson’s intent to erase the infant as a “problem” disrupting his life.
