Judson Defir, 43, allegedly entered a Portland, Oregon home uninvited on Sunday, March 15, 2026, while the mother held her 10-month-old and played with her 3-year-old upstairs. Mistaking his voice for her husband’s, she heard “honey, I’m here” before he grabbed her, dragged her to a guest bedroom, and attempted to sexually assault her face-down on the bed while she protected the baby.
Attack Details
Defir pressed on her back and hips, risking injury to the infant until she convinced him to let her secure the baby in a crib. She then barricaded herself with her toddler in another room, screamed from the balcony, and alerted her husband who was yardworking outside; Defir fled as neighbors and churchgoers pursued.
Broader Rampage
That day, he also inappropriately touched a woman in a nearby church and grabbed two strangers on the street. Police found him nearby, tracked by 15 shouting residents; he made crude remarks to an officer upon arrest. Defir admitted smoking meth earlier, entering the home casually, and bumping the woman amid her screams.
Suspect Profile and Charges
Described with messy hair/beard, bad teeth, body odor, and a black hoodie, Defir has priors like 2024 indecent exposure. He’s charged with first-degree attempted rape, kidnapping, burglary, and probation violation, held without bail pending a Wednesday hearing.
