Jermaine Sammy Milligan, 42, and Deangelo Montez Simmons, 38, both from Charleston, South Carolina, were arrested following search warrants executed this week at homes on Congress Street near Senate Street and Simons Street near King Street.​
Charges and Seizures
Milligan faces trafficking cocaine base (10-28 grams) and possession with intent to distribute cocaine. Simmons is charged with trafficking cocaine (>400 grams), trafficking cocaine base (28-100 grams), trafficking fentanyl, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and three counts of possession of a firearm during a violent crime. Officers recovered illegal drugs and a firearm during the multi-week Special Investigations Unit probe.​
Official Response
Charleston Police Chief Chito Walker stated drugs and associated violence have no place in the community, crediting resident tips and officer commitment. Both suspects were booked into Al Cannon Detention Center pending bond hearings; Milligan received $75,000 bond.
