North Charleston, South Carolina. An investigation is underway after a Charleston County employee discovered a body in the woods near Trident Technical College.
Officers rushed to the 2000 block of Mabeline Drive shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday and spoke with a 29-year-old “tree warden” who informed them he had been hunting for a certain plant in the woods when he discovered the body, according to a North Charleston Police Department report.
The report states that “apparently the person had been deceased for quite some time.”
Trident Tech Public Safety, the North Charleston Fire Department, Charleston County Rescue Squad, and the Charleston County Coroner’s Office were among the organizations who arrived to the incident.
The coroner’s office has yet to identify the deceased individual.
