A suspect is in custody following a shooting that occurred Friday evening, May 29, on Bishopville Highway in Camden, South Carolina, according to the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office.
Incident Details
Deputies responded around 7:15 p.m. to reports of a person shot in the leg in the 900 block of Bishopville Highway. Upon arrival, law enforcement secured the scene, applied a tourniquet to the victim, and coordinated with EMS within seven minutes.
Victim and Medical Response
The victim was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment. Investigators say the victim and suspect know each other, and there is no indication the public is in danger.
