A shooting in Darlington County has now turned fatal after the victim died from his injuries.
What Happened
According to local authorities, officers with the Darlington Police Department responded to a shooting around 6 p.m. on Monday in the Pearl Street area.
When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound behind a restaurant.
Victim Dies at Hospital
Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee confirmed that the victim later died at the hospital. Officials have not yet released his name.
Investigation Ongoing
Police say:
- There is no immediate danger to the public
- Additional agencies assisted in processing the scene
- The investigation is still active
Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward and help with the case.
