Authorities in Austin, Texas, have arrested three suspects, including two teenagers, in connection with at least 10 random shootings across the city over a weekend, leaving four people injured.
Details of the Shootings
The incidents occurred between Saturday night and Sunday morning and included shootings at two fire stations, apartment buildings, and bystanders. One victim sustained critical injuries, while three others had non-life-threatening wounds. Police received approximately 20 emergency calls during the spree.
Suspects and Arrests
The arrested suspects include a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old, both previously involved in firearm thefts, and a third young person taken into custody later. The teens allegedly stole over four vehicles to commit the attacks. Police say the guns used in the shootings were stolen.
Public Safety Measures
During the manhunt, authorities issued a shelter-in-place order for parts of South Austin and the Manor area, which has since been lifted. Police confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public.
