An Ohio man accused of killing his wife was arrested in West Virginia after investigators tracked him down using license plate reader technology, police said.
Woman Found Dead by Children
Authorities said Ashley Ross was found dead inside her bedroom Wednesday morning in Alliance, Ohio.
Police said her two children discovered her body and called 911.
Investigators later determined she was the victim of a homicide.
Husband Became Main Suspect
Police quickly identified Ashley Ross’ husband, 49-year-old Robert Andre Ross, as a suspect in the case.
A warrant was issued for his arrest on a murder charge.
Officials have not yet released details about how Ashley Ross died.
Suspect Arrested in West Virginia
Law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, used license plate reader technology to locate Robert Ross’ vehicle.
Authorities later found him in Morgantown, West Virginia, where local officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested him without incident.
Extradition Planned
Robert Ross remains in custody in West Virginia and is expected to be extradited back to Stark County, Ohio.
Police said the children are currently being cared for by relatives.
