A tragic case from Florida has shocked many people after authorities confirmed the cause of death of a 27-year-old doctoral student, Zamil Limon. His sudden disappearance earlier this month led to a serious search operation, and the developments since then have raised many questions about what really happened.
What Happened to Zamil Limon?
Zamil Limon and his fellow doctoral student, Nahida Bristy, both aged 27, were reported missing on April 17 from Tampa. Their disappearance worried friends, family, and the local community, leading to an urgent search effort by authorities.
After several days, Limon’s body was discovered on April 24 on the Howard Frankland Bridge. This discovery confirmed fears that the case was more serious than a simple missing persons situation.
Autopsy Results Reveal Shocking Details
An autopsy carried out by the Pinellas County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Limon’s death was a homicide. The official cause of death was stated as “multiple sharp force injuries,” which means he suffered several wounds caused by a sharp object.
Authorities also revealed disturbing details from the report:
- His wrists and ankles were found bound.
- The injuries suggested a violent attack.
- The manner of death clearly pointed to intentional harm.
These findings have made the case even more serious and heartbreaking.
Investigation at the Residence
During the investigation, police examined the apartment where Limon lived with his roommate Hisham Abugharbieh and another individual. What they found there played a major role in building the case.
According to reports:
- A large amount of blood was found inside the residence.
- Blood traces were seen starting from the apartment entrance.
- The trail continued through the kitchen and led to Abugharbieh’s room.
This evidence strongly suggested that a violent incident had taken place inside the home before Limon’s body was moved.
Arrest and Charges Against the Roommate
On the same day Limon’s body was discovered, police arrested his roommate, Hisham Abugharbieh. He now faces serious charges, including:
- Two counts of first-degree premeditated murder
- Tampering with evidence
- False imprisonment
According to court records, these charges indicate that authorities believe the crime was planned and carried out deliberately.
As of now, no plea information has been recorded, and Abugharbieh’s lawyer has chosen not to comment on the case.
What About Nahida Bristy?
The case has another worrying aspect — Nahida Bristy is still missing. Authorities continue to search for her and have not confirmed her whereabouts.
Recently, officials from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reported that human remains were found near the interstate connected to the bridge where Limon’s body was discovered. These remains have been sent for identification.
At this stage, it is not confirmed whether the remains belong to Bristy, but the investigation is ongoing.
