A Pennsylvania woman was killed after police said gunmen opened fire on a group of people in Philadelphia, striking several innocent bystanders.

Victim Had Just Left Work

Authorities identified the victim as Imani Ringgold, 20.

Family members said Ringgold had just finished work as a home health aide and stopped to buy pizza before heading home.

Her grandmother told local media she was on the phone with Ringgold when the shooting happened.

Police Say Suspects Targeted Someone Else

According to the Philadelphia Police Department, the shooting occurred April 7.

Investigators said three suspects exited a black Mazda SUV and opened fire toward a group of people.

Police believe Ringgold was not the intended target.

Authorities said two other bystanders — a 23-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman — were also injured.

One Suspect Arrested

Police arrested Hamza Ruley, 24, on Thursday.

He faces charges including:

  • Murder
  • Attempted murder
  • Conspiracy
  • Firearm offenses

Officials said Ruley is being held on $1 million bail.

Two Suspects Still Wanted

Investigators are still searching for:

  • Mustafa King, 26
  • Zarie Manning, 21

Police said the suspects’ vehicle was later found abandoned several blocks away.

Ruley’s next court appearance is scheduled for June 1.
