A Tennessee woman is facing multiple charges after police said she attacked several people and rammed another parent’s vehicle during a confrontation at a Memphis high school.

Dispute Began After School Band Meeting

Authorities identified the suspect as Jasmine Dunmars, 37.

According to investigators, the incident happened April 21 after a band meeting at Melrose High School.

Police said another mother approached Dunmars in the parking lot to discuss allegations that Dunmars’ child had been bullying her child.

Fight Escalated in Parking Lot

Investigators said the conversation ended quickly, but Dunmars allegedly returned in her SUV and blocked the other mother’s vehicle.

Police said a fight then broke out involving several students.

According to court documents, Dunmars allegedly punched one of the girls during the altercation before school staff intervened.

Vehicle Allegedly Used During Incident

Authorities claim Dunmars then got back into her Jeep Grand Cherokee and intentionally rammed the other mother’s Nissan Pathfinder while a child was attempting to get out of the vehicle.

One girl reportedly suffered minor injuries during the crash.

Police also said Dunmars allegedly drove toward several people in the parking lot, including students and staff members, who managed to move out of the way.

Investigators stated she later struck the vehicle a second time and allegedly chased the family after they left the school.

Multiple Charges Filed

Dunmars has been charged with:

  • Four counts of aggravated assault
  • Vandalism
  • Assault
  • Reckless endangerment

Officials said she remains in the Shelby County Jail on a $125,000 bond.

A mental evaluation hearing is scheduled for June 11.
