An Oklahoma man has been arrested after authorities say he ran over his wife with a truck and killed her.
Husband Charged in Wife’s Death
Terry Grant, 56, is charged with manslaughter in the death of his wife, 55-year-old Cassandra Grant.
The investigation began Monday after Grant called 911 and reported finding his wife dead on a roadway near their home in Miami, Oklahoma.
Investigators Suspected Vehicle Strike
Deputies said Cassandra appeared to have been run over by a vehicle.
Authorities found a Ford F-250 parked near her body on the private roadway leading to the couple’s home.
Grant reportedly told investigators he did not know where his wife was the night before and claimed he may not have realized if he accidentally hit her because of the rough roadway and condition of the truck.
Evidence Collected During Investigation
Investigators said human hair was discovered on parts of Grant’s truck, and officers noticed unusually clean areas underneath the otherwise dusty vehicle.
Police also found clumps of hair near Cassandra’s body.
Authorities reviewed surveillance and license plate reader footage that allegedly showed Grant driving in Miami the evening before the discovery.
Neighbor Spoke With Victim Before Death
A neighbour told investigators Cassandra came to his house the night before asking for a ride and appeared intoxicated.
The neighbour said very few vehicles normally travel on the dead-end road where she was found.
Suspect Turned Himself In
Grant later turned himself in to authorities after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
He was being held on a $100,000 bond.
