The case took place in Lehi, where 34-year-old Brennan Dalton has been charged with multiple serious offences, including murder. According to police records, the incident happened in the early hours of April 29.
Dalton allegedly called 911 around 2:15 a.m. and admitted that he had “freaked out and strangled” his wife. This call led authorities to rush to the scene immediately.
What Police Found
When officers arrived at the home, they found Dalton’s wife in a critical condition:
- She was unresponsive
- She was struggling to breathe
- Immediate medical help was required
She was quickly taken to the hospital, where doctors had to place her on life support (intubation). Later, she showed slight signs of consciousness, like responding to her name, but there are concerns about possible brain damage.
What Led to the Argument
According to the affidavit, the couple had been drinking before the incident. The situation escalated after:
- An argument began following their 7-year-old daughter being put to bed
- Dalton claimed his wife insulted him and called him a failure
- He also said she asked him to sleep on the couch without a blanket

Disturbing Statements by the Accused
During questioning, Dalton reportedly made alarming statements. He told police that:
- He had previously tried to take his own life in November 2025
- He had been struggling mentally since then

After the Incident
Dalton told officers that after the strangulation, he stopped and apologised to his wife multiple times before calling 911. However, the damage had already been done, and she was left fighting for her life.
